Summary

10+ years of sales, business development and account management experience within the online marketing and digital advertising industry, with prestigious client wins including national retailers and global brands.

(1999) I became a dotcom entrepreneur and set up an advertising company called Pub2Club which specialised in the bar and nightclub industry along the south coast of the UK.

(2002) My experience with new media took me to London where I worked for a leading search engine marketing and internet intelligence agency, Webgravity, which was later acquired by dealgroupmedia.

(2004) I was actively involved with the successful launch and growth of the world's largest comparison shopping search engine / price comparison website, Shopzilla (formerly BizRate.com) into the UK and Europe.

(2007) Shopzilla became the UK's 2nd largest comparison shopping website in March 2007 (comScore). Joined Ministry of Sound to head up the digital advertising sales for websites Ministryofsound.com and HedKandi.com.

(2008) Joined the advertising team at eBay UK to develop new strategic partnerships.

Senior Manager Integrated Partnerships at eBay UK

July 2009 - Present

eBay.co.uk is the largest e-commerce website in the UK with 17.7 million unique visitors (Sep 09 Nielsen); an active reach of 43% of the internet audience. With this active community in a shopping mindset and open to commercial messages, there are many opportunities for integrated partnerships.

Integrated partnerships can help brands become fully involved in the eBay experience and unlock the potential of their product, service or experience with their target audience.

Within an increased Partnerships team, my role is to work with clients directly or together with agencies, to deliver revenue generative partnerships that build awareness, facilitate brand engagement or simply drive customer acquisition.

Senior Manager Strategic Partnerships at eBay UK

March 2008 – July 2009

eBay.co.uk is the 3rd largest UK website with a unique audience of 14.5 million and over 40% of all active internet users visit the site at least once a month. Monthly activity is an incredible 3.3 billion page views and 128.5 million sessions from consumers who are searching, browsing and buying products. As an integral member of the advertising team in the UK, my role is to:

Maximise eBay’s non-transaction revenue by means of forming revenue positive strategic partnerships and sponsorships that create value for clients, community and eBay.

Build long term deals with brands to provide adjacent products or services, which are engaging and enhance the buyer/seller experience, and leverage eBay’s graphical and other inventory.

Work with 3rd party ad sales agency to ensure on-target sales performance and a consistently high level of account management and campaign trafficking/optimisation services.

Head of Digital Sales at Ministry of Sound

May 2007 – February 2008

Responsible for the advertising sales revenue for the digital network, comprising of youth targeted websites Ministryofsound.com and HedKandi.com. Audience of 18-35 years, 400k unique users and 3 million page impressions.

Selling a range of creative opportunities to media agencies and clients direct, including premium display advertising, partnerships, pre-rolls and ad supported/funded content on MoS TV and MoS Radio, sponsorship, syndication to IPTV and iTunes, integration via editorial, competitions, podcasts, microsites and content downloads. Also WAP banners and mobile content on Ministry of Sound mobile website.

Exciting clients include Adidas, Apple, Bacardi, BBC, Budweiser, Coca Cola, COI, EMI, L'Oreal, Nike, Nokia, O2, Smirnoff, Toyota, Unilever, Vauxhall, Yahoo!

Launched the MoS Radio Vista Sidebar gadget, delivering over 40,000 hours of 24/7 live stream and 7 On Demand channels per month.

Acting Head of Sales (UK) at Shopzilla / BizRate (Europe)

January 2007 – May 2007

Further to the sales and account management of leading retailers within the UK marketplace, I was also responsible for the UK team of Account Managers, and had shared responsibility of the German team. This involved the management, leadership, recruitment and training of the staff, to meet the individual and company goals.

Reporting to the European Sales Director, my role was to acquire new clients & online retailers to advertise on the largest and leading price comparison shopping search engine, with websites in UK, France, Germany and US. I carried out business development, campaign management, strategy & optimisation to meet client's return on investment metrics.

Following a merger between Webgravity (also known as Web Gravity) and dealgroupmedia (dgm UK, now Fuel), I assumed the position of Key Account Manager within the Internet intelligence department, NetDetec. Reporting to the Business Development Director, my role was to manage, develop and further client relationships throughout the target market, and to secure additional revenue through the existing client base.

Key achievements include the successful account management and business development of global brands across Europe, including Audi, Boots, Gillette, GlaxoSmithKline, Microsoft and Nestle.

Services included: domain abuse, brand and copywrite protection, counterfeit and loss prevention, product security, corporate reputation, consumer satisfaction and insight, market research, competitor intelligence, compliance, fraud and piracy detection, intellectual property, test purchasing, profiling and investigation.

Business Development Manager at Webgravity

February 2002 – October 2003

Reporting to the Head of Sales at Web Gravity, my role was to identify, develop and secure new business opportunities within target sectors, marketing the full range of search engine marketing (SEO, SEM) and brand protection (NetDetec) services from parent company IBNet Plc.

Key achievements include successful client wins, including Channel 4, Empire Direct, FACT, French Connection, IG Index, Miss Sixty, The AA and Weber Shandwick.

Presented as a guest speaker at leading industry events, including the LIMA Licensing Spring Seminar in May 2003, and the New Media Age Online Marketing Workshop in September 2003.

In November 1999, I founded Pub2Club.com. A limited company, which provided bar and club information and advertising throughout Hampshire and Dorset.
