Shooter (2007) DVD Review

Shooter is a fantastic action thriller worth watching

This is one of Mark Wahlberg's finest movies in my opinion, and one that gets you gripped from the very beginning.

Walberg plays Bob Lee Swagger, an expert sniper who was left for dead by the government department during a mission in Ethiopia which should never have happened. Years go by and Swagger is approached to assassinate the president, well, plan it to be more exact. In doing do, he's framed for the attempt on the president and is chased across the US by those who set him up in the first place. A rookie FBI agent and the wife of his former spotter (who got KIA in Ethopia) come to the rescue, as Swagger searches for the truth and justice.

A great supporting cast played by Danny Glover, Kate Mara and Michael Pena. Considering that this does not have high profile A-lister actors, it's certainly well worth watching. In fact, I bought it on iTunes and have watched it half a dozen times. Great stuff.
