Taken (2009) DVD Review

Taken is an action thriller worth watching

Liam Neeson plays a retired government agent with very special skills. You just don't mess this guy! His slightly over-protective father nature cannot be overlooked, when his daughter decides to go to Europe with a friend. His ex-wife is none forgiving until his experience is called upon, after his teenage girl is taken.

Fast paced and full of action, Neeson is basically like an older version of Jason Bourne, with all the fighting skills and special forces training.

My favourite quote is when he speaks to one of the captors on a mobile phone;

"I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you."

Brilliant movie. Highly recommended.
