UP (2009) DVD & Blu-Ray Review

UP - this movie is another amazing Pixar animation

Disney and Pixar come together again to give you another amazing animation, rich in colour, sound, detail, humour and all-round family entertainment.

Wanted to see this in the cinema, but eventually bought on Blu-Ray. What a result, pure 1080p delight. The detail of this animation is immense, and the colours will blow you away.

The story is based around a retired balloon salesman, Carl Fredicksen, who fulfils the dream of his and his late wife's childhood dream and heads towards Paradise Falls in South America. He does this by tying hundreds of balloons to his house and sets off, but accidentally with an 8 year old Wilderness Explorer, Russell, who's in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The animation and sound are fantastic, and the beginning is pretty sad. I mean, adults are likely to well up on this, in the sheer reconition that none of us are looking forward in getting old. Yet, Mr Fredicksen's stubboness and naivety of Russell, make this a gread adventure for them both.

The humour is just spot on. There are some great scenes that will make all ages laugh out loud, although some will go over the heads of the children, like the "Cone of Shame". Brilliant!
